Our mission

Fruitful Wombs Maternal Care Foundation is committed to improving maternal and infant health outcomes in Nigeria by empowering and supporting women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period through culturally responsive maternal health education, doula support, maternal mental health services, emotional care, and access to essential resources.

We strengthen communities by training and equipping local birth workers and community-based providers with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care.

Through education, advocacy, collaboration, and community-based programs, we seek to ensure that every woman has the support, resources, and opportunity to experience a safer and healthier pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.

Our vision

To help build a Nigeria where every woman can experience pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period with access to safe, compassionate, culturally responsive, and holistic maternal care.

We envision stronger communities and a strengthened maternal health system where women’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being are valued equally, families are empowered through education and support, and community birth workers and healthcare professionals work together to improve maternal and infant outcomes.

What we work towards

Aims and objectives

Train, equip, and support local doulas, birth workers, and maternal health advocates to provide compassionate, community-based care that improves birth outcomes and reduces maternal and infant mortality.
Improve access to essential maternal health resources for underserved women, including prenatal education, emotional support, postpartum care, and essential mother and baby items.
Foster collaboration between doulas, midwives, and healthcare professionals in strengthening maternal health systems and promoting safe delivery practices.
Carry out awareness campaigns, outreach programs, and educational workshops on safe motherhood, birth preparedness, newborn care, and maternal mental health in rural communities.
Advocate for improved maternal healthcare policies at local and national levels through research, public engagement, and stakeholder partnerships.
Establish community hubs, support groups, and service centers where women can access maternal health information, peer support, and direct care.
Raise funds, receive donations, grants, and endowments for the furtherance of the organization’s objectives and sustainability of its programs.
